More Cute Valentine's Treats!

With so many fabulous ideas out there for Valentines Day projects, I thought I'd share a few more today. And these are truly so simple that you could whip them up in minutes with a few store-bought ingredients. First up.....

It doesn't get much cuter than this!

"Love-Bug" Marshmallow Pops from the Decorated Cookie.

And the next goodies are all from Suzie's Confections, using all easy-to-find ingredients such as these large pretzel sticks and covering them in melted candy coating and sprinkles.

Buy a bag of fortune cookies and dip them in the candy coating and sprinkles, too.

These would make a great favor for friends and teachers.

These are chocolate covered rice krispy bites.

And graham cracker sticks covered in chocolate and sprinkles rounds out the super-easy, super-quick Valentines' ideas. I love all of these projects because they allow even busy moms a way to have fun and be creative with the kids.

Only a week or so before those classroom parties -- we better get on the ball!

Valentine's Treats - Yum!

I'm finding and sharing some more cute Valentine's treats today from across the web. Some are super easy, too, which is always helpful around a busy holiday with classroom parties and all the rest. I love these ideas because they translate well into party themes of all kinds, not just Valentines. Change the sprinkles.... the frosting colors, etc. and you can make them work into your own child's birthday party theme.


Heart shaped Cookie Pops from the Idea Room using a "play-dough" cookie dough recipe (it's not really play dough, in case you're a little worried..... it just works like play dough for easy molding.)

And another super cute creation from the Idea Room, a stuffed-cookie with Valentine's sprinkles. Talk about easy! Wrap them in cellophane with some sweet Valentine's ribbon and hand them out to classroom friends.

And how adorable are these marshmallow pops from The Decorated Cookie? Using food markers makes this activity simple and quick, too.

EASY Homemade Hot Chocolate Gifts

Homemade Peppermint Hot Chocolate

I've got a quick and easy gift idea for classrooms, teachers, friends and more today. Homemade hot chocolate with some mini marshmallows and peppermint -- yum!

A quick list of ingredients and supplies:

25.6 oz Nonfat instant dry milk
16 can of Nesquick
16 oz Coffee creamer (Whoops! Forgot this one in the photo so make sure you add it)
1 pound of powdered sugar
1 bag of mini marshmallows
candy canes
small plastic bags
curling ribbon
christmas tag

Now for the directions:

Put the first 4 ingredients in a very large bowl and stir and then stir some more. Now take all of your candy canes (without the wrappers!) and put them in a ziploc and crush them up. Make sure to leave a few chunks so that they look pretty for presentation. Now take your small plastic bag and add about 5 tablespoons of hot chocolate mix. Next add a few marshmallows and then some crushed candy cane.

Use your curling ribbon to tie the bag off and add your gift tag... the one I've shown is from the Shindig Parties TO GO Let it Snow Collection.

Marshmallow Snowman Treats

When I designed my Let It Snow Collection of holiday printables (which are still 50% OFF right now), I made some sweet little snowman treats for my photo shoot table. Quite a few emails have come in asking for a tutorial, so I thought I'd do just that today.

Aren't they the cutest?

So here's what you'll need:

As pictured: Fudge icing, large marshmallows, Karo syrup (light colored), Rolos, mini Oreos, some black and orange confetti sprinkles (I have some left over from Halloween), and white sparkling sugar. You'll need some wood skewers and a clean paintbrush, and I also added a few things at the end of the project -- toothpicks and mini marshmallows.

Step 1: Take your large marshmallow and with a clean paintbrush, brush some Karo syrup all around the side of the marshmallow.

Step 2: Now roll your marshmallow in the white sparkling sugar and set aside. Repeat these 2 steps for all of your marshmallows -- you'll need 3 marshmallows per snowman.

Step 3: Now it's time to add on the cutie pie face. Using your paint brush, dot the back of your confetti sprinkles with a touch of Karo syrup and then apply to your sugared marshmallow.

Step 4: Next, skewer 3 marshmallows together on your wood skewer to make a snowman.

Step 5: Now for the hat. Pry apart your mini Oreo cookie and use the side without the creme attached. With a butter knife, apply a small amount of fudge icing to your Oreo, unwrap a Rolo candy and press it onto your iced cookie.

Step 6: Making the arms. Now take a toothpick and press it through the side of your middle marshmallow on your snowman. Add 2 mini marshmallows at the ends of your toothpick for hands.

And that's all! Quick, cute snowman treats! Great for a fun after school project or even a class holiday party. With little ones, you could even have the pieces of the snowman made first and then let them put them together and add the hat and arms.
