Gorgeous Halloween Dessert Table

It's getting close to the witching hour, as they say. And there is no shortage of amazing Halloween displays circulating on the web. This table from Sweets Indeed has to be one of my favorites. Chic and still a little creepy, too. Vintage with touches of Victorian elegance..... impeccable styling.... It's simply gorgeous. Makes me want to have a cocktail party!

The team at Sweets Indeed say they "tapped into their inner haunted mansion" in

designing the details of the desserts and props, even seeking out a

vintage rental store for many of the decorative pieces. Just revel in all of these details.....

And amazing party favors. As I said before, simply gorgeous.
It makes me happy to know there are designers out there this passionate about their craft! Wouldn't you have loved to be invited to THIS party??

We Have a Winner!

And the WINNER is.....

Congrats, Janelle -- You now have an adorable Halloween printables
collection to enjoy this Halloween!!

Thanks so much to the others who entered. I hope that you love being a follower of Shindig -- I promise to do my very best to bring you fun and inspiring party ideas.

Speaking of fun..... I have a couple of more super cute Halloween ideas today.

Need a cute centerpiece for a Halloween party or just want to make something creative with the kids this weekend? This spooky black licorice tree from Parents.com would be perfect. And now there's actually a use for that yucky licorice!

And look at this fantastic cupcake stand from Alexa at The Swell Life -- made from an old CD and a candlestick! Goodness, I love creativity! And even better, Alexa has a full tutorial on her blog.

Check out this inventive little candy corn stand for a cupcakes. Quick to make and really eye-catching.

It's from Following Phubie and is made with cardboard cake circles, some scrapbook paper, a vase and candy corn. Wouldn't this be cute to put those classroom cupcakes on? The kids would go crazy with excitement when you bring them in!

And I can't get enough of all the monster creations out there! These brownie monster pops from Better Homes and Gardens simply make me smile. Fondant covered brownies on a stick.... with silly eyes! How yummy and fun!

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend! The countdown to Trick-or-Treat is on!!

Bagel Witches - How Cute!

I couldn't wait to share this adorable idea from Courtney at Pizzazzerie -- BAGEL WITCHES! It doesn't get much cuter than this.

Courtney takes bagels, pretzels, candy corns, gumdrops and a few other supplies and turns the ordinary old plain bagel into a fun craft for kids. Take a look at her quick tutorial and then go to town making your own creations.

Adorable! And I think even better if you use an edible "glue" like white chocolate candy coating to adhere all the cute features to the bagel witches. Let the kids' creativity soar -- set out bowls of candies, pretzels, jelly beans, m&m's and more and let them come up their own super fun designs!

Rustic Fall Tablescape

With a slight coolness to the air (FINALLY!) around here, it's starting to feel a little like fall.... in late October! Makes me want to go out on my porch and roast a marshmallow in the fire. Seriously, that's one of the first things I think of when the change of seasons arrives here in the South.
It's always the sugar, always.

Fall brings so many wonderful things, including some great fall tablescapes seen around the web. I love the rustic feel to fall tables.... apples and pinecones, branches, browns and oranges. There are so many great ones out there, but today I wanted to show you one of my favorites from Katie Grace Designs . Katie has an amazing ability to take the ordinary and make it extraordinary. Look at these wonderful pictures -- I think she's brilliant.

Isn't it fabulous?? Katie's pine cone chandeliers are so eye-catching!
Especially mixed with the large polka dot and orange fabric.

Katie serves individual mason jars of pumpkin trifle for each guest -- such a personalized touch with the fall leaf label and the pumpkin buffet card holder she found at TJ Maxx.

I can't tell you how much I love this idea!! Like I said, Katie is brilliant when it comes to thinking out of the box and using ordinary items to make a statement. She has a wonderful how-to tutorial on her blog if you would like to make your own pine cone chandelier.

Again, the individual servings are fun and beautiful, too. These pumpkin pies add to the rustic charm of the entire tablescape.

She leaves no detail forgotten, even the spoons are adorned with fabric and raffia.

Simple hay wrapped in fabric and raffia -- simply beautiful.

The spiced tea station, where everything from the cups to the
pitchers of water were decorated in theme.... love the chalkboard how-to.

Please go to Katie's blog to see even more amazing photos of her rustic and charming fall tablescape. Congratulate her, too! She won The City Cradle Fall Tablescape Design Challenge -- Hooray, Katie!!

I'm soooooooo excited!!!!

What a great day! And after a really great week, too. We've been in Santa Rosa, FL all week on vacation (one of my most favorite-ists places on earth), and today was our day to come home. Sad but true. And you know what that means.... cleaning.... washing.... loading up..... three kids.... 4 hours..... packed in like sardines in a COMPLETELY FULL car..... and oh yeah, lots and lots of "are we in Auburn yets????"

We arrived, just in time, I might add, to pick up the dog, run by the grocery store and come home to a house full of nephews, my sister and my mom who were all visiting from out of town. Whew, I'm tired just writing about it! We unpacked, cooked for 9, ate, cleaned and then giggled alot while we watched the little ones act like fools all night.... belly dancing, break dancing, making their belly buttons talk.... you know, the usual Saturday night drill around here. The next thing I know, it's 11:30, I crawl in bed, and as admittedly addicted as I am to my laptop, well, I decide to check just one teeny thing before I catch a little shut-eye. And there it is.... a sweet little message from a friendly fellow party-lover like myself telling me that my fairy party has been featured on a party website called Catch My Party!

Well, what do you know.... my party.... right here on the Plains in little old Auburn makes Party of the Day. I was so excited that I even woke up my sleeping, snoring husband just to show him. Needless to say, I didn't get a whole lot of excitement back. It was really more of a grunt than anything else.... but I'm sure he'll be super excited, too, in the morning.

So until then, when I get to run around the house hugging everyone, telling them how much this means to me to be recognized by Catch My Party (yes, I know, sounds a little ridiculous, right?), I decided to go ahead and tell my blogger buddies about it tonight. So thanks for listening and indulging me.

I pour over these party websites with the same kind of passion and zeal that my 4 year old does when he looks at his Star Wars book of just about every single Star Wars toy ever made (and yes, the obsessive defect does seem to be genetic... poor boy). I can't describe the rush I get when I see pictures of a beautiful party.... to know that there are women out there, just like me, completely creatively immersed in every little detail. And there are some REALLY talented women out there with some really great parties, too. So here it is.... the button I now get to keep. You can click it to see this awesome site full of wonderful parties from all around the world.

Catch My Party

OK, I'll stop celebrating and go to bed. Night, night.

PS - I'm posting the Fairy Party post again under this post in case you might have missed it the first go around. It still makes me happy to look at it.Photobucket
