I could just eat him up!

I wish I would do this more often. You can never have too many pictures of these little lives you've created. I took Jacob out a few weeks ago to make sure to have documented proof of those gorgeous curls! I don't think we've ever gone anywhere in public together without someone commenting on the "girl hair" as I call it. Anyway, he did a fabulous job as a model, and we had a really good time together hanging out. I really could just lick him!

Madison's Alice In Wonderland Play

(If the slide show isn't working, click twice on the "X" to close the info box)

Wow, are we ever glad to see this day come (and go!). We all thought that Madison, who is by nature very theatrical and dramatic, would be fantastic in theater so I signed her up for the local presentation of "Alice In Wonderland." Granted, they only practiced about 6 weeks and the play was 15 pages single spaced and typed, but momma was sure wrong!

Madison didn't want to practice her lines, no matter how her mom prompted, cajoled, begged, and even threatened! So, literally, we were down to the wire with even her teacher somewhat concerned. But what do you know -- SHE DID IT!!! She pulled through, persevered, practiced, and believe it or not, I even think she was proud of herself! We were certainly proud of her, too!

And kudos to her friend, Katie, who played Alice. You did a superb job, sweetie!

My Beautiful Macy

After I took pictures of Jacob, I actually talked Macy into brushing her hair and putting on girl clothes for a change! I know, very hard to believe. No UnderArmour -- shocking! But she did it, and with a good attitude, too. And as usual, she took some beautiful pictures. Thanks May-May! One day you'll be so glad your mom made you brush your hair! I love you!

Macy, we're soooo proud of you!

Macy was selected as Auburn City Schools' winner for K-2nd grade in the Superintendent's Art Show! It was such a huge honor for her being in 1st grade and being selected over 1500+ kids! We have known since she was 2 1/2 or so that she would be artistic like her mommy, but this was such a proud moment for her.

We went last night to Auburn's Board of Education meeting where she was recognized and given a certificate for winning. They wanted to keep her artwork in the Board of Education building and pay her for it, but we decided mom & dad would pay her instead, and we took the art home for Macy to enjoy!

The only bummer of the night was that Mommy got stopped by a really nice man wearing a badge and his car had blue lights flashing all over it! Yes, I got a speeding ticket on my way there!

Well, what can I say, you know how it is when you're late, you're driving down the road answering the cell because your husband is calling to tell you sorry, he's running late, too and won't be there to help -- you're reading the letter the school system sent to figure out directions while you're deleting pictures off your digital camera to make room for more pictures of the big award ceremony... you turn the corner and the video camera falls from your lap to the floor board, while your 2 year old is screaming "paci momma" and your girls are telling you they want you to play #6 again on the CD that's blaring in the background -- sometimes you just forget how fast you're going -- right?

I calmly and I think, very respectfully, tried to explain that to the nice man with the badge, but I just don't think he was old enough to have children or to really even care how stressful it is to be a mommy these days! Oh well, chalk it up to an important lesson for my kids - Always obey the rules or there will be consequences!

Macy's Rockin' 7th Birthday!

Macy wanted a Rockstar Birthday party for her 7th birthday. I got on the internet and found lanyards and plastic covers for the "All Access Passes" I made for all the kids to get in the door. We set up a stage and had Hannah Montana and High School Musical Karaoke.

I've never had that many kids all talking to me at once! It was, "Ms. Amanda, I want to go next, I want song number 4, I want this CD, wait, she wasn't supposed to go in front of me, no, it's my turn!" Calgon - take me away!!! But it was fun. I think I had as good of a time as they did. Macy had a great time, too, and the hair painting and tattoos were a hit!

Macy, you're growing up on me darling!

Thanks to my good friend Julee!

Julee, I just can't thank you enough for introducing me to this whole new world of scrapbooking online. I always say I don't want to learn how to do one more new thing -- for those of you who know me well, you know what I mean! I seem to stay too busy just trying to keep up with all the things I already do (paint, decorate, sew, party plan, and on and on). But this one is a little different. What could be better than documenting the life and times of the wonderful family you've created? And my kids are so excited about it too. They think it's so cool to have a website just about them! So, again Julee, thank you for helping me finally sit down and take enough to time to acknowledge the fun we're having day to day and not letting those memories just become a blur in this busy-ness that we call life!
