Halloween Party. Lots of pictures!!!

Tonight was our Trick or Treat pre-party with some of our neighbors and close friends. What a blast! The kids had a great time. I had a fabulously fun time planning and executing this party. I think I successfully did my part filling the kids up with as much sugar as I possibly could in the short time I had! :)

Grab a cup of coffee, perhaps a snack and get comfortable, because below are a TON of pictures! Lots of the dessert buffet, complete w/ toothbrushes. ;) Some of the menu which included mac n cheese for the kiddos as well as grapes served out of little treat buckets (everything is better when you eat it out of a mini bucket!). And there are even a few pics of the kids table.

Enjoy (if you dare)!!

Shindig Showcase: Customer Star Wars Party

There are so many wonderful things about starting your own business. I think what I enjoy most is helping mom's who are working on parties for their little ones. Usually they are immersed in the planning, the details, the shopping and googling for ideas. And yes, sometimes they might be just a little bitty bit stressed about how it's all going to come together. So if I can relieve some of that party-planning stress, it makes my day!

As a mom of three and a party enthusiast myself, I know how the details of planning the perfect party can overwhelm a busy mom. If I can help that process along in some small way and create something personalized and special for their little one, then that makes me so very happy. There's really nothing better than a thoughtful note from a grateful mom!

Recently, I worked with a sweet mom in California on her son's Star Wars party. Yesi took some of the ideas from my own son's Star Wars party in July and created a spectacular shindig for her five year old. Yesterday she sent me photos to share.

Yesi used the Shindig Star Wars Printables throughout Jameel's party from the Star Wars galactic food labels to the Jedi Knight personalized task badges for each of the guests. She made a "space" backdrop from fabric and had me create a Star Wars logo sign to attach to the fabric panel.

She served Yoda Soda, Death Star Doughnuts, Wookie Cookies and Light Sabers which she made from pretzel rods and covered them with colored chocolate and colored sugar.
How fun is that? She said all the kids LOVED their Yoda soda and light sabers!

Yesi also used Two Sugar Babies Star Wars fondant cupcake toppers.
Their work is perfection! Just look at that C3PO!

The cake was perfectly galactic, too -- blue fondant with a Star Wars Logo
and accents of silver stars made by Jay's Catering. .

Thank you, Yesi, for sharing Jameel's party. I'm so happy that I could help you with Star Wars Lego party items when you couldn't find any anywhere!
I hope Jameel had a wonderful birthday!

Bats and Bones..... A Halloween Dessert Table

I've got another fabulous Halloween party table today from Sandra Downie Event Designs .
Don't you just love that bat backdrop? And the black cheesecloth....
I think I've even seen this at the Dollar Tree this year --- fantastic!

Details DO make the difference. Sandra delivers a dessert table packed full of
spooktacular styling.... a purple glittery skull, strategically placed spiders, some candy corn and
sparkly haunted houses all add to the festive ambiance of this fun party table.
One of my favorite details is the "Bat Juice" label on the party drinks --
a fun way to "spook" up your Halloween bash.

Mixing paper wrapped boxes in different heights for food displays with lots of Halloween colored candy in jars is a great way to add interest to your table.

Sandra featured lots of different dessert items including these tombstone cookies
from The Flour Pot in NYC.

The Flour Pot also made the fondant bat sugar cookies - love these!

This I LOVE, too! Sandra found these paper coffins at AC Moore,
added a crushed up store-bought chocolate cookie pie crust and added a few skeletons for effect.

Poisonous Candy Bars..... you can't fool me! "Poisonous" or not, there's chocolate in there -- I'm in!

Such cute ideas! Sandra did an amazing job with her party table. Be sure to check out her other parties on her blog.

Gorgeous Halloween Dessert Table

It's getting close to the witching hour, as they say. And there is no shortage of amazing Halloween displays circulating on the web. This table from Sweets Indeed has to be one of my favorites. Chic and still a little creepy, too. Vintage with touches of Victorian elegance..... impeccable styling.... It's simply gorgeous. Makes me want to have a cocktail party!

The team at Sweets Indeed say they "tapped into their inner haunted mansion" in

designing the details of the desserts and props, even seeking out a

vintage rental store for many of the decorative pieces. Just revel in all of these details.....

It makes me happy to know there are designers out there this passionate about their craft! Wouldn't you have loved to be invited to THIS party??
