Christmas in Decatur

This past weekend we went to Decatur to celebrate Christmas with Jonathan's family. Jonathan left Friday to visit clients in North Alabama, and I left Sunday with the kids. On the way I met up with a friend that I never see anymore who lives in Clanton. I've known Bryan since 2nd grade -- we used to walk home from school together. He's such a great guy and I really missed seeing him at our high school reunion this summer. It's always so much fun to see people who've known you most of your life, but you've just lost track of -- Thanks Bryan! And the kids loved you, too!

So then, after we were loaded up on ice cream from Durbins, we drove to Decatur. It is the only time all year that all of his sisters and their families are all together. Betty, his mom, always does a fabulous job making everyone feel right at home and making enormous meals for the big crowd. I don't know how she does it!

My kids love to see their cousins -- they range from 1 year old to 26, but they all have fun playing guitar and games together, and this year Ben added a harmonica to the mix!
